Although players are permitted to speak any language on the public channels. it is considered polite to speak in the main language of the server.

Current Neocron 2 servers

Terra

  • Server type: Neocron 2 Live Server
  • Status: Inactive
  • Slots: 4
  • Support language: English

History

Terra was started in September 2004 with the launch of Neocron 2. This server is one of the most popular servers in use, since it is the international English server. Players from English speaking nations (Such as the UK and the USA) frequently log onto this server, along with other English speaking players from other countries. (Such as Germany, Holland and France)

Terra was shut down in late 2012.

Hardware failures

Terra, along with Mercury and Mars went offline on 21/22 May 2008 as the login server suffered from multiple hardware failure.

The disk drives for the main login server failed, and also the server with the backup disk drives also failed.

Specialist data recovery teams at the datacentre had to be called in to recover the data, before the servers were put back online on the afternoon of 29 May 2008.

Neptune

  • Server type: Neocron 2 Live Server
  • Status: Inactive (Current future unknown)
  • Slots: 4
  • Support language: English

History

Neptune was started in September 2005. Although lots of players used the server in the first few weeks, it's popularity dropped off when some glameplay flaws came to light/

It was closed in December 2006, so that KK could use the server as a public test server for the Neocron 2.2 Balancing project.

Although KK had planned to look at the server after completing the 2.2 Balancing project which ended in March 2007, there has been no official word about the future of the server since then

Special notes

Neptune is a pure PvP server. XP is gained at a higher rate than the normal servers, and SI takes less time to wear off when a player GR's or is killed.
