Hacknet

The hacknet is a special virtual world for people skilled that want turn hacking into a combat skill rather than utility. All classes except Gentanks can enter it.
There exist two different types of hacknet. The level areas and the net. Level areas are small 'rooms' filled with mobs players can fight and collect rare code fragments. The Net can be used to travel between Outposts and main Neocron locations for free.

Hacknet Rules

Hacknet visually looks like Neocron in neon, but it plays far, far differently to the game most players are used to.

First of all, any items that are not hacknet equipment will not be usable. This means stamina boosters, health kits, drugs, even LOM pills. Only hacknet equipment works inside the hacknet, even though your armor stays on your body its resistances have no effect on damage taken. Inside hacknet you get special hacknet programs which function much like PSI modules. There is a basic heal (works like the standard self-heal PSI module), a shield which acts like a PSI energy shield, an attack, and an AOE version of the defensive utilities. There was an AoE attack but it never worked and was removed.

Inside Hacknet your abilities are also different. Your health pool depends heavily on your Hacking skill and int not con and body health, for instance.

You can enter the Net by hacking a GeneReplicator with a skill from about 30 (you only need a Hacktool). When you hacked the GR, you will enter your Faction DNS.

Faction DNS

In the Faction DNS you will find level areas, the Infected Storages and you will find the faction database. You also can reach the Mainframe with other Faction DNS' and the Outer Network. In the Outer Network you can travel through the GRs. Hacking nearest GR is also a very fast way to go to your faction HQ, as every Faction DNS has an exit that gonna spawn you right next to faction HQ GR. Warning, once you enter the hacknet, there is no way to go back to the GR you came in.

This is also one of the prime areas for hunting Code Fragment #Spine-001 to Code Fragment #Spine-006 for the Spine Mark-6 Codebreaker from the mobs.

Faction Database

Each Faction has Unique Items to download from the Database. The Firewall High Security is located on the highest point of the Faction DNS.

To Download items from a database you need: High Capacity Datacube - TL 90
When you want download items from a foreign database (not your faction) you need: Spine Mark-6 Codebreaker

You will get the Code Fragment #Spine-001 to Code Fragment #Spine-006 for the Spine Mark-6 Codebreaker from the ICD V2.2.2 of each Faction.
A popular way to get things out of a foreign faction database is to make an alt in Hacker profession that starts with the Hacktool, transfer the Datacube to it, download the stuff then delete the char. Mobs inside your own faction database are won't attack the player.

In the Outer Network you will find travel routes to the Outposts and Bridgelinks. You will find 9 Neocron travel routes and 8 DoY travel routes in there. Each Travel is connected with a Bridgelink or Uplink, except NC7&8 and DoY7&8.
