Gamemaster

A Gamemaster is a member of the support staff, either a volunteer community member or employed by KK. The role of a GameMaster is to provide ingame support and advice to players who cannot solve their own problem despite the assistance of the community. GameMasters usually monitor the in game helpsystem where a stuck player can submit a ticket to summon help and explain their problem. GameMasters will also monitor player activity within the game and report infractions of the game rules or the Terms of Service to the KK staff. Contrary to popular belief, GMs do not have the authority to ban players on a whim; they are merely "police" who can only report players for an offence. They are, however, allowed to hand out official warnings in order to discourage further commission of the prohibited action. The details of the offence, warning given and any supporting evidence will then be reviewed by one or more KK staff who may decide to impose an account ban.

Regular GameMasters (including trainees) are unpaid volunteers from the community. Recruits to the GM team cite their love of the game and willingness to help other players in need as their motivation for volunteering.

Recruitment to the GameMaster team is strictly by invitation only. In order to be invited, a player must meet certain criteria:

• Minimum age of 21
• Minimum period of game play of NC2: 4 months
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Excellent working knowledge of the game, game worlds, missions and game mechanics.
• Clean account (and official forum) record and be a fit and proper person within the community to be in a position of trust.

Invitations are usually posted on the official forum or sent to a shortlist of candidates from previous recruitment drives whenever a vacancy in a particular support language arises. Any player may apply to be considered, but final selection of candidates is at the absolute discretion of KK staff.

Gameplay

Within the game, Gamemasters have a range of godlike powers including the ability to become invisible, spawn any item or monster, warp themselves and others to any location within the game and disable collision detection through solid surfaces in order to retrieve items accidentally dropped by players. GM's are divided into various ranks and are required to manage use of their powers according to this hierarchy.

Trainee Gamemaster

A new GM in training. These GMs appear as regular characters without the CopBot PA. They carry the prefix "GM_" in front of their name.

Gamemaster

These are the common support and event GMs. They carry the prefix "GM_" in front of their name.

Senior Gamemasters

Senior Gamemasters are the leaders of the GM crew and usually one is required to permit certain actions of the lower GMs. Usually they are KK officials. They carry the prefix "KK_" in front of their name.
