Piercing

Overview

Piercing is one of the 6 primary damage types within Neocron, prevalent in low-tech weaponry and melee weapons.

PvE considerations

Piercing damage is a very common damage type. Most of mobs doing bite or melee attacks will do piercing damage, as well as any enemy wielding a physical bullet weapon. Early levels in the city will consist mostly of this damage type.

PvP considerations

All bullet-based low-tech weapons do piercing damage. Popular and powerful Wisdom of Ceres weapons are also doing this damage type, making it one of the most important resistances in the game.

Weapon families dealing Piercing damage

• All of low-tech pistols, with the exception of the Mini rocket launcher
• All of low-tech rifles
• Sniper rifle
• Gatlin cannon
• Ionic shotgun cannon
• All variants of combat knives
• All variants of swords
• Claw
• Brass knuckles
• Frag grenade
• Junk knife
• Kami, marksman and gatling drones
• Combat vehicles armed with 20mm, 30mm cannon, or 7.62mm air pressure gun.

Weapon modding

Being a common damage type, there is not many weapons that can mod into Piercing. Exceptions are explosive weapons with ammo labelled as 'anti-personnel' like Mini rocketlauncher and Rocket launcher.

• Resist skill: Resist pierce
• STR-based armor: All types, with Battle having the best values
• INT-based armor: Deflector belt, Ionic nylon, Krokydolith
• PSI-based armor: All types, except Chrysotile
