== Functionality ==
Shield modules reduce incoming damage from the corresponding damage type. They are a very important tool of survival and should be present in every combat team.

===== Shield override =====
When casting a shield module on a target that is already shielded, the current shield buff '''is not''' replaced by the next cast even if it's stronger than the current. The current buff retains its strength, but the duration is refreshed.

===== Shield removal =====
Monk that specializes in APU can remove shields using [[Antibuffs]] module. The alternative is to use {{Item_DB_Link|name=Crahn Organism Infector V1}} modified with the corresponding anti-shield nanites, but PSI incapable classes like Tanks cannot use it due to FCS requirement.

===== Shield incompability =====
PSI shield modules are incompatible with shielding provided by [[Nanite Injectors]] and will not refresh their duration.
