Hey bram do you think it would be possible to do image hotspots within the wiki? Also another idea I had for a wiki extension, would be to have a list of people in a group - for example the admins/sysops, which when this page is edited (of course it would be protected) would send the same message to everyones talk page - do you think this would be possible? --{{:User:Delphi/Sig2}} 19:55, 5 May 2008 (BST)

: [http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/imagemap.shtml here] is a link to the basics of image mapping (or hotspotting) - I was wondering if we could extend it so that we could include jquery within the plugin so we could have images pop up when hovering over an image of a dungeon or sector - related to what is there? --{{:User:Delphi/Sig2}} 20:24, 5 May 2008 (BST)

Hi, great to see you around too! Apologies if this isn't the correct way to reply to your comment. I'm out of touch with Wiki communication :)

Hey Bram, here I was at work reading up about the server still being down, and people complaining about the lack of events being run within the neocron world for newer players and I thought, hmmm dont we (Pheonix) have a huge surplus of rare weaponry? Maybe what we could come up with is some kind of smaller event for low level players sponsored by Neocron Wiki, which we run ingame for the newer players (limit on the skill ranking of the character - If a vet wants to enter then they are still limited by the level cap!). {{:User:Delphi/Sig2}} 13:48, 28 May 2008 (BST)

Good job with the new tags, they are very intuitive. A little while ago I looked at making some updates to some tags but couldn't because the Wiki still relied on the Ids from the Items DB (which are no longer publicly visible from what I could tell). No such problem with the update! I especially like the ability to copy the template to the clipboard from within the Items DB. == Quick thought about "Places of Interest" ==

Would it be possible to get an invisible category to the place when we use the places of interest tag within the maps? Im just thinking a nice page of all of the places of interest within the neocron would be a nice page to link people too when they are new and looking for adventure. Also dont know if you noticed the image Carnage posted on the forums of the old CS, but it might be worth talking to KK to see if we could get a package of all those images to use on the wiki/itemdb.... {{:User:Delphi/Sig2}} 13:48, 6 June 2008 (BST)

: After a quick search [http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:About_exporting_and_categories%3F this] is the only reference I can find about removing categories, we might need to either make it an API call so we get <pre><nowiki> <ncwiki:nocategory>[[Category:Places_of_Interest]]</ncwiki> </nowiki></pre> or wait for the new version of MediaWiki to be released with support for individual page CSS (although that could be a pain to maintain) {{:User:Delphi/Sig2}} 14:09, 6 June 2008 (BST)

Hi, the genotoxic suits in the database are incomplete, the one with str 80 requirement is also only PE. (I noticed it when i went through all that trouble to get one, when it turned out my tank will never be able to use it..., welcome to neocron ey ;)) --[[User:Biglines|Biglines]] 10:11, 11 June 2008 (BST)

Hi, thanks for the update, but you do know you miss the 3 other genotoxic suits in the db right? there's 3 for PE, and 2 for spy --[[User:Biglines|Biglines]] 10:56, 11 June 2008 (BST)

:: Hi, I don't know how to reach you, so I will try it here. It's cause of the Item DB :) In the TG Hacknet Database are two items. The Special Raygun Cannon with Requirements STR: 115 Faction: Twilight Guardian H-C 122 T-C 89 and the Ryker "Vulcano" Grenade Launcher. The Raygun Cannon is not in the list. Hey brammers, pretty much all the vehicle keys are messed up, componentwise, havent got a resser tho so cant be sure --[[User:Biglines|Biglines]] 18:01, 17 June 2008 (BST)

well, at least the doy gliders are all componentwise different, there's a lot more required, I used th.org to buy parts, but the resser gave me a bp that said i needed a lot of different and more parts, im not a resser so I can't check, and if your bps are from old patches maybe they are wrong? or his might be wrong I suppose... --[[User:Biglines|Biglines]] 11:28, 19 June 2008 (BST)

== Template Fix ==

The {{temp|nft}} template was designed to allow more than one template to be placed with a mission without ending up with a series of thumbs going down the page. I did this, I think, by removing the float on the image. I dont think there is anything wrong with your fix, so make it live if you want! {{:User:Delphi/Sig2}} 13:12, 11 June 2008 (BST)

== Another template fix ==

I have had a good look for the culprit and I cant seem to find it, there looks to be a div issue or maybe a span issue within the {{temp|Documentation}} template, it seems to work one minute and not the next... If you get a chance to check my code I would really appreciate it :) {{:User:Delphi/Sig2}} 00:55, 13 June 2008 (BST)

: See {{temp|Clan}} to see what I mean, on some pages like {{temp|Deletion}} it is working fine, and on others not....

== Vendors ==

Hi Brammers, is it possible to get some kind of vendors list either in the itemDB or on the wiki? like in the style of [[Chez Sypher]], but if possible also able to search them (now item database stuff isnt searchable with the wiki search, is it possible to add that?)

I mean, this is something that could be especially usefull, since the itemdb show stats, but not where to get them --[[User:Biglines|Biglines]] 13:41, 19 June 2008 (BST)

Is there a namespace kind of thing or category I should work with if I start making pages about smugglers? make a page for every smuggler, or put all smugglers on one page, or one kind of shop and then the different locations/variations as headings? --[[User:Biglines|Biglines]] 14:36, 19 June 2008 (BST)

I was thinking about making a subpage for each type of salesNPC inside the shop, for example [[Archer & Wesson/Low Tech Ammo]] and then on the [[Archer & Wesson]] make a list of locations with the vendors linked there --[[User:Biglines|Biglines]] 15:48, 19 June 2008 (BST)

TY for the praise ;) It will be slow going though, because I don't know all the locations, and sorting out the item ids is a real pain in the ass, but [[User:Reaction]] has already offered to help out a bit with the in-city vendors, and most of the smugglers use the same inventory with some additions I believe, so this should work out fine, mostly checking then. Maybe some announcement for people willing to help out making lists of the item ids of different vendors?  --[[User:Biglines|Biglines]] 01:44, 20 June 2008 (BST)

== The link_icon comand ==

Oh no, your awaiting my thoughts? hehehe.... Well I am happy to have the size attribute in the command, I dont forsee any issues with it, people will just have to learn the new command - although I would recommed pre warning Biglines, so he can be prepared and maybe even change all his current pages to fit the new scheme. I agree that bringing the command in line by merging the two will lower the resources and make the command easier to use. So all in all go for it!

On a side note, I am not particularly active in anything at the moment as I am working towards my transfer viva, and writing my report and presentation. Once that is over I will look to dedicate some serious time to the wiki, especially as the monthly charge will be lower for NC so might even look at reactivating ;) Just so you guys dont think I have abandoned the site! {{:User:Delphi/Sig2}} 08:31, 21 June 2008 (BST)

== DoY Tunnels ==

Hey brammers, could you add icons for a upgoing tunnel entrance, downgoing entrance, and a Wasteland Tunnel entrance? that way it's a bit clearer which ones go up and down and such, ill keep on doing it the same way in the maps, so you can overlay them with icons, because it would be too difficult finding the right positions. --[[User:Biglines|Biglines]] 14:35, 24 June 2008 (BST)

== Via Rosso ==

Hi Bram, I left the comment on the page.  I was working away last night and added a final comment about the NC1 manual version being "Via Rosso"after i had already voted for the "viarosso" version see [[http://wiki.techhaven.org/index.php?title=Talk:Via_Rosso&diff=prev&oldid=8861| HERE]]. <br>

Then when i checked back this morning to see (I mark items as patrolled to keep my log clean so i can track which pages i need to check) i noticed the historical version contained the removal of a comment by Delph, the amendment to Bigllines comment removing the link to the NC Page and the removal of the end date for voting, also my vote had been deleted!

This all shows as one amendment under my name!! I'll admit i had a beer last night m8 but no way would i delete other people's comments ever. Highly confused, i changed my login password today.  No idea what has happened but i know i did not make that amendment even though the WIKI seems to think i did!

Look [[http://wiki.techhaven.org/index.php?title=Talk:Via_Rosso&diff=prev&oldid=8881| Here]] For example, too the right is my amendment to the bottom of the page around 1 this morning and to the left is a host of amendments i was meant to have done at 22.17.  I only added my Vote and a baa baa comment as a joke of the following sheep :p --{{:User:Logan Ford/Sig2}} 18:23, 28 June 2008 (BST)

== itemDB Error? ==

hey Bram, I have seen an error in the past and thought nothing of it yet i have been getting it more and more lately when viewing pages with a lot of itemdb links for example [[Smuggler (Psi Equipment)]] will not always load the images. Instead i get a call rate error? asking me to refresh the page.--{{:User:Logan Ford/Sig2}} 14:00, 8 July 2008 (BST)

*This is by design, and to do with the cache layer - 50 items is the max that can be loaded from the DB per page in one request. These 50 are then cached, so the next time the page is loaded, the next 50 are loaded (and cached) from the db. If you get this problem again, refresh the page a few times and you'll see those tricky bleeders perish. Unless I'm totally wrong with this, and am talking rot... that wouldn't surprise me, it happens more often than not :p --[[User:StevenJ|StevenJ]] 12:07, 9 July 2008 (BST)
