Toxic (or Poison) damage is one of the damage types in Neocron.
Poison damage is primarily dealt by mobs, though player weapons do have some ammo mods available that add poison damage to a weapon.

There are some ammo mods that induce Poison damage, though they are not available for all weapon types.
Because poison mobs are not universal, Poison Resistance is not as important as, say, fire resistance, or force resistance, however the rareness of high poison resist means that it can be effective for a PvP weapon. Typically either X-ray or Poison resist will be the lowest resist a player has. Your choice of which is a personal one but should be influenced by how frequent your trips to areas where poison mobs are found.
