Description

Tangent Technologies (Tangent) is the main weapons developer / manufacturer in the city of Neocron. Originally an internal division of Biotech Industries (Biotech), Tangent broke from it's parent company in 2746. It's focus on the research and development of arms provided such quality that City Admininistration uses Tangent weapons to arm their Copbot squads. The Tangent culture clearly revolves around personal safety and security. Their motto, “In guns we trust”, is really the perfect descriptor.

Headquarters

The Tangent Technologies headquarters can be found in Viarosso SEC-2, nearby the zone line for Viarosso SEC-3. Like every HQ, it has two guards outside the main entrance. It has GoGuardians, a Venture Warp and a Yo's Pawn Shop nearby.

Key Personalities

Robert Jordan

Robert Jordan owns both BioTech Industries and Tangent Technologies Inc. In 2748, at age 90, Robert handed control of BioTech over to his younger son, Seymour Jordan. Robert gave control of Tangent to his older son, Damon. Robert told them that whoever proves themselves to be the better manager will be given control of both companies.

Damon Jordan

Damon Jordan is the current Tangent Technologies. Damion is not prepared to lose the competition with his brother Seymour and is willing to take extraordinary measures to bury his brother so that he can control him.

History

In 2658 Hester Gabun, one of the managers and founders of Biotech Industries founded a special department named Tangent.
Tangent's purpose was the development of highly effective new weapon systems. Due to the tense political situation in 2722, Tangent Technologies branched off from Biotech Industries and became an independent company. Damon Jordan was appointed manager. Two years later, Robert Jordan presented the key to the headquarters of Tangent Technologies Incorporated to his son Damon and retired to enjoy his old age.
In his will, he stipulated that whichever of his two sons (Seymour and Damon) could show higher sales for his enterprise (Biotech Industries and Tangent Technologies), would inherit both companies. Since then, Damon and Seymour have been engaged in a vehement struggle. The companies' balance sheets are almost equal, but Damon is slightly in the lead. In 2750 Tangent Technologies suffers severely from researchers and technicians opting out and leaving the company to join the idealistic Fallen Angels. This in turn does not really improve Damon's attitude toward the scientists.
