The concept of Soullight is similar to that of Carma in some RPG games. Soullight represents your compliance with law and cooperation with the system. Soullight can be increased by completing faction missions (jobs), decreased by killing loyal citizens. Runners with SL well below zero are considered criminals and cannot safely enter some city sectors. Soullight also affects the security of your belt.
