Question - why does the edited sidebar not appear on the main page, but seemingly everywhere else? -CMaster 16:58, 15 November 2006 (GMT)

It's cached - See MediaWiki for a bit more information. You can purge indvidual pages, but for a sitewide purge, a table needs to be purged. I may add a script to clear the cache now and again, if it's a problem. --Brammers 17:04, 15 November 2006 (GMT)

Proposal

I propose we change the sidebar to including a second navigation box:

• navigation
  • mainpage|mainpage
  • Special:Allpages|All Pages
  • portal-url|portal
  • currentevents-url|currentevents
  • recentchanges-url|recentchanges
  • randompage-url|randompage
  • helppage|help
  • http://www.techhaven.org%7CTechhaven Network

• resources
  • Guides|Guides
  • :Category:Missions|Missions
  • :Category:THNAPI|THN API
  • Project:Policy|Project Policies
  • Project:FAQ|FAQ

This would then allow more of the direction for new users to the site, without requiring them to keep going to back to the main page to find another link to head off of, this would also consolidate the current wiki section pages into their own box. Comment: I put the Policies and FAQ at the bottom of the list, as they are a more administrative side of the links - I consider the API to be part of the wiki content Delphi  (t)  (c) 13:52, 8 April 2008 (BST)
