  • The sysop policy list is being created to try to stop any problems between sysops and also to govern the way that the wiki works here --Delphi 11:38, 13 November 2006 (GMT)

Thanks

Hey bram - thanks for the work you put in with the wiki extension, I hope that it will have a massive use within the Wiki (P.S. I owe you too many beers now....)New.png Delphi  (t)  (c) 00:08, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

New Important Discussion

  • There is an important discussion here to discuss the change of the sidebar, please read the proposal and comment/vote on it (This is a trial run for the way admins will vote on important topics) New.png Delphi  (t)  (c) 13:41, 8 April 2008 (BST)

THN API

  • Bram do you want to do a patch notes style system on the wiki for the update of the API? Could then also put the forthcoming notes on here so they can be easily linked (for example when something is preset up to work with the next version - see ionic shotgun weapon New.png Delphi  (t)  (c) 18:39, 8 April 2008 (BST)

API Policy

  • Maybe we need a API policy, with instructions as to how to use them links to the proper pages etc. (for example I dont think people would think to search for item ids). This then could also be used as a framework for guiding how the wiki utilises the API efficiently New.png Delphi  (t)  (c) 18:42, 8 April 2008 (BST)

Signature

I have made a new page, seen as people seem to be having problems with the signatures! - Please read this to sort your signature out - because at the moment it is dumping all the HTML commands into the page! δρDelphi (t)(c) 14:42, 16 April 2008 (BST)

Sig Problem

Thanks for the info Bram , at least i am not doing something stupid! For now i'll just have to do it all manually.[admin] Logan Ford • (talk)22:15,23 April 2008 (BST)

Archer & Wesson

There seems to be a problem with the article Archer & Wesson, any atempt ive made to access the articles simply results in my ending up on an empty page called Archer that I see you've previously deleted content on. Acording to the search function there is content on the article but the & sign in the title seems to mess things up. Is there anyway you could rename the article to Archer And Wesson instead to make it acessible? (Written by Solid!)

Solution - http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Short_URL/Ampersand_solution_with_root_access

Sorry about the signature, it slips my mind now and then. --Solid Rock 11:29, 25 April 2008 (BST)

Corupt Files

I will keep that in mind however, the main reason I deleted the image was that it didnt seem to be used anywhere. As with all of the faction logos that Pantho uploaded which never got used. --Solid Rock 19:23, 5 May 2008 (BST)

Makes sense however to add them to the deletion list so that people will get a chance to argue against them - for example I need a 32 x 32 px version of each of the factions with the TH blue background for use within the template npcbox --δρDelphi (t)(c) 19:06, 5 May 2008 (BST)
If you put those on that template however they wont show up on the page for unused files. I only deleted stuff on there that was either clearly broken or blatantly unnecessary. Cases where i figured a deletion tag would be superfluous. Take Pantho's uploaded faction logo's for example, due to miscommunication back in 2006 they never got used and new ones where uploaded and added to the articles instead. So not only are the files unused theyr duplets of ones that are in use, a discussion of whether or not they should be deleted is utterly redundant in this case. --Solid Rock 19:32, 5 May 2008 (BST)

Image Hotspots

Hey bram do you think it would be possible to do image hotspots within the wiki? Also another idea I had for a wiki extension, would be to have a list of people in a group - for example the admins/sysops, which when this page is edited (of course it would be protected) would send the same message to everyones talk page - do you think this would be possible? --δρDelphi (t)(c) 19:55, 5 May 2008 (BST)

here is a link to the basics of image mapping (or hotspotting) - I was wondering if we could extend it so that we could include jquery within the plugin so we could have images pop up when hovering over an image of a dungeon or sector - related to what is there? --δρDelphi (t)(c) 20:24, 5 May 2008 (BST)

Deletion

I see your point but I still hold that something like two year old duplicate images does not warrant any kind of debate. Nothing has been lost, we still have the same images under different names. It seems to come down to you not trusting me when I comment the deleted files as Unused duplicate images. That the images are duplicates should be information enough, it shouldn't be necessary for you to double check. The deletion policy is a fine thing, but every rule has its exception's. While ive been away for a while and nolonger have Beurecrat status on the Wiki, I still have an equal stake in this Wiki and its creation and honestly find it hard not to take ofense that you feel a need to go around lecturing me on policy and probing my actions. I believe you mean well, but I just feel that your steeping on my toes abit. --Solid Rock 22:43, 5 May 2008 (BST)

Solid no one is lecturing you on how the wiki is run, however in the last couple of months that you havent been around the wiki has changed shape and the way things are run has changed slightly. The deletion policy was put there so that the majority of the admins could vote on the deletion of any pages. As for the change from bureaucrat status, that was my decision as I only wanted the lead admins to have bureaucrat, the rest of the admin team just needs sysop. Only myself and Brammers have Bureaucrat, and that IMHO is the limit to it. You however are mentioned as one of the founders in the admin page. Please dont take offense, we are just trying to keep on top of the wiki, as we are now getting around 100 edits per day, which is starting to total up once they all need checking. I think that if there is a image duplicate then the policy should be to put a deletion tag onto it and then add it to the pages to be deleted page so it can be voted upon. The wiki is a democracy, and the more we can do to push it that way the better! --δρDelphi (t)(c) 22:52, 5 May 2008 (BST)

Sysop Announcements

  • Hi Brammers/Archive1 the sysops now have a centeral area for the discussion of policy and the way the wiki is run, please add this page to your watch list - thanks --δρDelphi (t)(c) 22:56, 5 May 2008 (BST)

Directing your attention

  • Hi bram, can I direct your attention to this talk page here as dragonette is talking about using Jquery for the application of tips to the missions - some feedback from a man who knows about these things would be useful! δρDelphi (t)(c) 17:30, 7 May 2008 (BST)
Also an issue that may need looking at, you'll notice that signatures have stopped working past the temp template above, seems that the source has rendered this:
 {{temp<a href="/index.php?title=Template:Delet&action=edit" class="new" title="Template:Delet">Template:Deletnto</a>

Somehow an ampersand is managing to get into the middle of the title even though it should be there..... δρDelphi (t)(c) 17:33, 7 May 2008 (BST)
