The smuggler is a specialist in general merchandise. He is able to archive a better price with the dealers and is a sought after guy at any market place. Smugglers offer their extraordinary ablities to dicker or buy merchandise beforehand and offer them for a profit. Lots of intelligence is needed, a job for Monks and Spies. Tradeskills for smugglers are ones that rely on Dex, like Repair or Recycle so they don't use up too many Int points
