User talk:Logan Ford/Archive01
Welcome
- Nice to see people adding to the wiki, ive seen the article count go up a whole 9 articles since you joined! Thanks for that. Ive replied to your questions on the THN, so just thought I'd let you know that we are around to help! I will try to have a think about making the templates I mentioned in the post tonight (as long as I get home at a decent hour) and will post here once they are done. With regards to the IDB links do you see a small green box after an item that you link? When you hover over this box then a pop up window (using Java) should be shown above the article with all the item information within it. If you dont see this then it might be worth upgrading your browser (N)wiki recommends the use of Firefox ;) - Got any questions then give me a shout! Delphi (t) (c) 12:41, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback , left comment on THN. I Will use this in future for discussion. How do i check for other peoples discussion, via Recent changes link to the left? I plan on Doing all the Jones missions, i don't want to just copy over THN versions as there have been some changes since those were wrote. I am using them as a template then running through each mission to check. + screens . I have done the same with the protopharm Epic and plan to do the rest once i get jones out of the way. Thanks for the info!--Logan Ford 13:52, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Best bet is to add it to a talk page for the page you are going to revamp (TBH we dont have high enough traffic to really worry about someone else doing all the work! As for checking people's discussion it mostly happens on their talk page - and Im not sure if the recent changes will show you when thats updated. If its your own page then it should send you an email when someone edits it! Plus you can add pages to your watch list then you will be emailed when the page gets changed. Just for You
- Delphi thanks a million! I will look at creating a Bug Template tonight. Could be dangerous though.....This is NC after all !! how many Bug templates will we find on here lol--Logan Ford 09:44, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Here you go heres the template for the non-float template - lots of options to be able to positions where you want, although I dont think the text will wrap around it, you will need to use tables to be able to wrap (I think they look good just sat in the center). I recommend using the thumb when there is just one image, but when there is two which wont fit in the correct places then use this template to position them next to each other (again use a table). {{nft}} Delphi (t) (c) 23:28, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thought you would like the new user contributions user bar - have added it to your main page - however you need to get your number on contributions from here under edits, and then change the contribs= section to your number of edits, doesnt look like there is a way to automatically count it at the moment! Sysop
- Hey logan, I can see your working really hard on the wiki, thanks for commenting on the Terrarists page, it will be deleted after we have had a discussion, if Sodae wants to argue about the deletion request. Do you want to become a Sysop within the community? Basically it means you become an admin, and means you can edit pages which have been locked and are given the rights to delete and use the deletion request templates etc.? Keep up the good work (I seem to post more on your user page than I do on the wiki!) Delphi (t) (c) 13:00, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Left a reply Via THN PM--Logan Ford 13:47, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Congratulations on getting Admin Logan, keep up the good work --Reaction 01:55, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks Reaction! Just Waiting for Delphi to fill me in on it. Sent a PM via THN Forum but is there a way to communicate here without all seeing?--Logan Ford 13:39, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Whoops! Didn't realise you were waiting for a PM to explain it all, will try and do that when I have a second lol - I dont think there is a way to send direct messages without people seeing on here though...

Heh heh no problem thanks Delphi--Logan Ford 14:20, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Signature
- Added your signature to your main page - right click and show properties then the address to direct link is there :) Delphi (t) (c) 21:29, 1 April 2008 (BST)
Excellent, thanks Delphi!--Logan Ford 22:42, 1 April 2008 (BST)
- Have a new sexy signiture [admin] Logan Ford • (talk)
- If you transclude it on a page called User:NAME/SigX and then add the page {{SUBST:User:NAME/SigX}} to the preferences and tick the "Raw signitures" box, then you can add it using the ~~~~ command! :) δρ • Delphi (t) • (c) 00:57, 10 April 2008 (BST)
- Hi, i have a question, can everyone have a signature? and how i can make it? or is it only for you? :D
- I spotted this page and amended my sig in line with custom sigs i.e. preferences / raw sig etc. so i don;t know why it's dumping it all in! check here as i think Brammers is having the same issue Talk:Powered_Armour--[admin] Logan Ford • (talk)13:34, 16 April 2008 (BST)
Front Page
- Ok seen as you have asked - here is a quick breakdown of how the main page works, and also where the transcribed pages are to be able to change the main page.
- Top Note
- TBH im sure most people have noticed the "top note" section - its at the very top to the right of the Main page tag
- Editing: edit this page - Note there is a maximum character limit
- Notice Bar
- This is the bar between the logo and the top of the content boxes
- Editing: edit this page
- Featured Image
- Top content box
- Editing: edit this page - Note eventually when we have decided on enough images we can make this work automatically.
- News
- Content Box - and internal section
- Editing: edit this page - Note news can link off this page - this is just transcluded onto the front page - watch the size of the section.
- THN/VoTR/Neocronicle News
- Patches
- Content Box - and internal page
- Editing: This has been written directly to the front page - edit in the usual way
- Help, Policy, and Guidelines
- Content box - and large internal section
- Editing: This has been written directly to the front page - edit in the usual way
- N.B. If you come across a page which is transcluded onto the front page which isnt protected to sysops/admins (if the tab at the top says unprotect then its protected!) then please hit the protected button and leave me a message on my talk so I can sort it. Its the easiest way to vandalise a wiki! Hmm think I'll add this to the front page discussion as well..... Delphi (t) (c) 22:40, 2 April 2008 (BST)
Busy!!
- My my havent you been busy mr Ford... lol great to see you working on the site, its really starting to pick up - like you have done if there is anything you cant do which you want to then dont hesitate to contact me! BTW I might design some new sigs - your image is a bit too big for the box.... Delphi (t) (c) 23:28, 7 April 2008 (BST)
Sounds good if you want to standardise them, i am no code monkey so Feel free to whip something up i know it will look great :) Logan Ford (t) (c)-- 09:00, 8 April 2008 (BST)
How do i combine the new sig with a date stamp? without having to manually change it every time?--Logan Ford 12:39, 8 April 2008 (BST)
- I do it throught {{:User:Delphi/Sig}} ~~~~~ that then posts the current date and time without needing to add it manually (although make sure to use the Delphi (t) (c) or whatever the path is to your sig, as it stops all the code for the sig being pasted onto the page! Delphi (t) (c) 13:33, 8 April 2008 (BST)
New Important Discussion
- There is an important discussion here to discuss the change of the sidebar, please read the proposal and comment/vote on it (This is a trial run for the way admins will vote on important topics) Delphi (t) (c) 13:40, 8 April 2008 (BST)
That sig problem
Hey Logan - I know why the sigs are screwing up, but I'm afraid I dont have a fix - see User:Brammers/Sigtest for an explanation. --Brammers 22:08, 23 April 2008 (BST)
Mod rewrite changes
Hi, I've updated the .htaccess mod rewrite rules (It's the file that gives us friendly URLS for each article) so that a & symbol can be used in an article. The Archer & Wesson page should be accessable again, but if I've broken anything let me know. --Brammers 19:51, 25 April 2008 (BST)
MSN
Hello Mr Logan, sir, would you be so kind as to send me a PM on the THN forums, so we can exchange msn addresses? I like to keep all my sysops on close call :P --δρ • Delphi (t) • (c) 20:45, 5 May 2008 (BST)
Sysop Announcements
- Hi Logan Ford/Archive01 the sysops now have a centeral area for the discussion of policy and the way the wiki is run, please add this page to your watch list - thanks --δρ • Delphi (t) • (c) 22:58, 5 May 2008 (BST)
Slight signature fix
Logan, excuse the my little edit on your signature - I changed the little • to html code • The reason the wiki parser was getting confused with just having • and talk pages where breaking. Delphi had the same problem in his signature, except his was 3 times worse, as I had to go and find the right codes for the symbols! --Brammers 20:56, 7 May 2008 (BST)
- Damn those greek characters.... lol - anyway this is just going to be a sigtest with the date - I hope I have fixed it for you :) δρ • Delphi (t) • (c) 00:15, 8 May 2008 (BST)

Fixed!! Turns out that there was a tag unclosed, and when closed in the right section it seems to have fixed it! δρ • Delphi (t) • (c) 00:15, 8 May 2008 (BST)
