Overview

Drones are a different take on ranged combat. Instead of using the weapon himself, the droner will employ a remote flying weapon platform to deal with enemies without exposing himself to danger. Deploying drone transfers the controls to the drone, you cannot move your character without canceling the control. That might mean the droner will be defenseless while piloting, as long as the enemy finds the body. Droners often hide in spots where mobs/enemies cannot wander to, that's why it's deemed as a cowardly way to fight. On the other side, drones offer AoE damage without harming the owner body and a quick way to level Intelligence and Dexterity needed for example for tradeskills.

Drone controls

All drones are flying devices. Movement keys will accelerate the drone towards the reticle and will change the elevation if the speed is high enough. Pressing Space and Crouch will accelerate drone directly up and down. When trying to fly over an object keep in mind the elevation, downward acceleration will be greater as the distance to the ground increases. Hovering over water is determined by the distance to the ground, not the water level and the drone will be instantly destroyed when submerged.

Pressing Fire will fire their weapon if there is enough ammunition left. Drones cannot interact with objects, but doors still can be opened when shoot at. Pressing the interact key will put the drone into charging mode, which will slowly replenish the energy shield of the drone at cost of 10% total ammo. In this mode, drones cannot use weapons. If ammunition reserve dries up, simply cancel the control using double-tapping Esc key, pick it up then deploy again. Keep in mind that the drone's Condition deteriorates quite quickly when shooting.

Drone stats

Drones have additional stats compared to other weapons.
