Craftsmen have a variety of high-tech tools to aid their tasks at their disposal.
General tools
Flashlight
Used to illuminate dark places. Some weapons can sacrifice a slot for a mounted flashlight, but it's viewed as a great waste. To use Flashlight, put it in your Quickbelt then equip it with an associated number key. Not used very often, but can be useful at times if you like to play on low screen brightness.
Datacube
Used to store the complex structure of various items blueprints analyzed by Research Tool. The datacube comes in few variants, standard and high capacity ones. A high-capacity datacube is needed to download the blueprint stored in faction databases accessible through Hacknet. Standard datacubes can be bought for cheap from any Cryton's Tech Tools shop. High-capacity variants can be provided by your Faction Supply Managers.
Object Removal Tool
Used to move placed furniture in your apartment back to your inventory.
Stealth Activator
Exclusive to Spies and PEs is a unique combat tool both to engage and escape encounters. After use, user becomes very hard to see by other players for few seconds. Unfortunately, this invisibility doesn't work on PvE mobs once you aggro them and you cannot use weapons for the duration. You also not be able to end the invisibility effect until it wears off or using Stealthbreaker
Hacktool
Used to hack open electronic containers, doors, corpses of mechanical enemies or to enter Hacknet. Currently TL of the tool doesn't matter at all, you can use the lowest TL you can afford. Read more about hacking.
Specialist Tools
Implant Tool
Used to install implants. This tool exists in two versions, personal and remote. Personal requires much less skill to use but you can only install implants onto yourself. Remote implant tool allows installing implants other people placed in their Processor windows. Trying to install implants above TL 30 requires higher TL tool and Implant Disinfection Gel . Recycle Tool
Converts junk into useable stuff. Mostly used to clone ammo or consumables, in that case you rarely will need recycle tool higher than TL55. High TL tool is needed to clone high-end drugs, in that case you will need Catalytic Recycling Conversion Fluid . Read more about Recycle
Salvage tool
Breaks up items into chemicals or parts. Typically not used very often. The tool has to be the same TL or higher in order for it to work. Salvaging never gives all of the components back.
Repair tool
Restores condition of items at cost of maximum durability. Tool has to be higher or the same TL like the item you want to repair. Items above TL30 also require Repair Lube . Remote version of the tool is used to repair vehicles on the field without putting them back to ASG. Read more about repair
Research tool
Makes an analysis of an item and stores it into an empty datacube as a blueprint, or to identify a rare part. Higher TL items require high TL tool and Research Substance . Read more about Research
Construction tool
Builds items out of blueprints or rare parts. High TL items require high TL tool and Construction Grease . Read more about Constructing.
Nanite Injectors
Nanites can be used in absence of dedicated PPU. While less flexible as Monk, those are a viable alternative.
Nanite Strategy
Heal Tools
Heal tools are only heal for a set amount - dependent on TL level.
Multiple injections / stacks do not increase the heal amount.
(Sometimes at the very very end of the heal activity, you may be able to get 2x stacks on the heal.)
Protection Nanites
Protection nanites give protection (similar to psi PAD spells).
The amount of protection depends on 4 things:
- INT base level
- Implant subskill
- TL of the nanite tool
- Number of injections done
Examples using 2-3 injections
- M1 Tools (the lowest tl) caps around 12.5% resist.
- M2 Tools caps around 25%
- M3 Tools caps around 35%. (With 115 Implant and 100 INT)

Injector Tools
Biotech Personal Injector
Most basic type of injector. With the help of Regeneration Nanites, the injection will regenerate damaged tissue, healing the user over time. This injector type has the least amount of requirements, requiring only 16 CON and 40 HLT making it possible to use by all classes and specs. Often used to aid the healing taken from medkits.
Crahn Organism Cleanser
Advanced type of injector that uses nanites designed to remove harmful damage over time effects. Injector by default works only with Detoxic Nanites removing Poisoned effect, but can be modded for all other types of damage over time.
Crahn Organism Infector
Modified type of Cleanser injector, used to inject others instead. Specialized nanites are designed to purge buffs injected persons can have. Injector by default uses Antiheal nanites that decrease healing taken, can be modded to purge damage boosts or shields.
Cryton Mixed Protection Tool
Advanced type of injector that uses nanites to protect the user from damage. The effect is equivalent to PPU protection spells. Injector by default uses PR-Deflector nanites that protects from Force and Piercing damage, can be modded for Absorber or Protector nanites for other damage type protection.
Cryton Singular Protection Tool
Specialized version of Mixed Protection Tool, that focuses on a single type of damage protection. The effect lasts longer than mixed nanites and generates less Nanite Activity. Uses ProForce Nanites by default, protecting from Force damage, can be modded for other types of damage.
Cryton Nanite Pyrolizer
To allow ally PPU to heal or buff the user, the user has to be free of the nanite effects. Pyrolizer Nanites cleanse other nanite effects, at a cost of very high Nanite Activity.
