Category updates

I've added the tag [[Category:NPCs]] to the category pages of Category:Genotoxic_NPC's, Category:Mechanical_NPC's and Category:Hostile_NPC's as a little test.

It helps navigation a bit, what does everyone else think?

Also the mobs in Category:Hostile_NPC's could do with splitting out a bit. We got a mix of them, like some could be moved to a Mutant NPC's category and some to a Hacknet NPC's category...you get the picture. Thoughts? --Brammers 11:28, 12 May 2008 (BST)

I like what you have done and the grouping definately needed a rework. Now that the NPC pages have started to grow in number, it may be time to talk through the best way forward.
I like the idea of sub categories of the type as you have laid out but would also like to see maybe somewhere else a zone tag, that is to where you can find this mob to kill. We eithe link this into the maps so when you view a sector map it lists the mobs available to kill or we link on the mob page what sectors you can find them in.[admin] Logan Ford • (talk)11:36, 12 May 2008 (BST)

Wow I like that! I think the simplest way to tag where a mob lives, is to put it into a category where name of the category is the zone name. So if a mob is found in sector I10,I12,and K15, you would have [[Category:I10]][[Category:I12]] etc... So if you visit the I12 category, you can see all the mobs there, although idealy you want the I12 category in the main I12 article. (I had issues transcluding a catergory into an article before)

Actually...thought of a slightly less messy way, as categories can be messy.

The NPC box has a location tag in it, so we add the locations to for NPC (Say for example the warbot can be found in E06)

Then on the E 06 page, there is a wiki function called <wiki:whatlinkshere/> which lists all the pages that link to E06, which includes our little warbot.

Slowly over time, we could end up with the Master Hunters Guide to the Wastelands. ;) --Brammers 14:54, 12 May 2008 (BST)
