Game installation

Once the game has been installed and patched, launch it to be presented with the launcher screen. Set your configuration to the desired screen size, and hit launch.

• Known installation issues
  • Fails to Patch - Windows Vista specific - Give folder containing Neocron.Exe Admin rights
  • No Music - Windows Vista specifc - Set Neocron.Exe to run in compatibility mode with windows XP SP2
  • Hangs on launch - Firewall issue - Make sure your firewall settings allow Neocron.Exe.

Character Selection

see Here for a guide to choosing your character. The Tank or Private Eye are a good choice for an initial character.

Game Entry

You will enter the game in via Area MC5 an instance zone for all new Runners.
Take a moment to familiarise yourself with the controls. Press Tab to activate the RPOS the main interface in control of several aspects of your character.

initial setup

'Press F1' to activate the intercom function, select Custom and scroll down to find "Help Channel", click the box next to it so an X appears. You will now be able to read what is being said in Help, often answering some of the questions you would like to ask!
From here you can select Local to chat to those runners around you or click on the custom Help channel to talk in Help. 'Press F2' and open your inventory, you have started with some essential items, these will differ depending on character choice.
Click and drag the weapon to the quick bar to the right and drop it in slot 1.
