First of all, any items that are not hacknet equipment will not be usable.  This means stamina boosters, health kits, drugs, even LOM pills.  Only hacknet equipment works inside the hacknet, even though your armor stays on your body its resistances have no effect on damage taken.  Inside hacknet you get special hacknet programs which function much like PSI modules.  There is a basic heal (works like the standard self-heal PSI module), a shield which acts like a PSI energy shield, an attack, and an AOE version of the defensive utilities.  There was an AoE attack but it never worked and was removed.

Hacknet

The hacknet is a special virtual world for people skilled that want turn hacking into a combat skill rather than utility. All classes except Gentanks can enter it.
There exist two different types of hacknet. The level areas and the net. Level areas are small 'rooms' filled with mobs players can fight and collect rare code fragments. The Net can be used to travel between Outposts and main Neocron locations for free.

Warning, once you enter the hacknet, there is no way to go back to the GR you came in.
